Harrogate Private GP Ltd has been established by experienced local GPs committed to providing high-quality, safe and holistic private general practice care.

Our service is led by Dr Ben Shacklock, Dr Tim Rider and Dr Joy Shacklock, who have worked for many years as NHS GPs in Harrogate and know the local community well. We understand the value patients place on time, continuity, and care from a familiar, trusted doctor.

Harrogate Private GP was created to offer unhurried private GP care, with time to listen, continuity where possible, and support shaped around you.

We now provide face-to-face GP appointments from our clinic at Winters Barn, Haggs Business Park, near Follifoot. Our clinic offers a calm, discreet and professional setting where patients can discuss new health concerns, ongoing medical problems, medication reviews, annual health checks, and more complex or holistic care needs.

We work with you to understand your current health and wellbeing, your concerns, and your wider goals for your health. Where appropriate, and with your consent, we can also involve your family or carers to help agree a clear and practical management plan.

Your appointment may include clinical assessment, examination, advice, prescriptions, blood tests or other investigations where clinically indicated, and referral to private specialists or NHS services where appropriate.

Additional fees may apply for some services, including blood tests, investigations, vaccinations, procedures, reports or letters. Where possible, we will explain any additional costs before arranging these.

Good communication is important for safe, joined-up care. With your consent, we can share relevant information with your NHS GP or other healthcare providers to support continuity and reduce the risk of fragmented care.

For patients who would like more regular access to private GP care, we also offer membership and subscription options. These are designed to support continuity, proactive health planning and access to appointments for adults, children and families.

Home visits remain available on request where clinically appropriate and subject to availability.
