Harrogate Private GP Ltd — Terms of Service
Effective Date: September 2023
Last Updated: April 2025
1. Introduction
Welcome to Harrogate Private GP Ltd ("we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by Harrogate Private GP Ltd ("Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By booking or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our Services.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use our Services, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Where the patient is under 18 years of age, a legal guardian must be present at the visit location throughout the consultation. The guardian may remain in a separate room unless otherwise clinically required.
4. Description of Services
We provide private general practitioner (GP) services at patients' homes within the Harrogate area. Services include, but are not limited to: medical consultations, clinical assessments, diagnostic investigations, prescribing, and general medical advice.
5. Appointments and Cancellations
Appointments must be booked in advance, typically through our website.
We reserve the right to apply a cancellation fee where appointments are cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled visit time.
Appointment availability is subject to change at short notice due to clinician commitments; however, we will endeavour to keep the website information up to date.
6. Non-Attendance Policy
In the event that the patient is not present at the address, date, and time specified in the booking request made by the person arranging the appointment, Harrogate Private GP Ltd shall be entitled to retain in full any fees paid.
No refund shall be due, including where the clinician has travelled to the location, save where non-attendance is the direct result of an error or omission on the part of Harrogate Private GP Ltd.
7. Fees and Payment
All fees for Services are as published on our website or as otherwise communicated upon enquiry.
Payment is due at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Where additional charges are incurred during the consultation (e.g., for further investigations or prescriptions), these shall be payable at the time of the visit, typically via the point-of-sale device provided by the clinician.
Cash payments may be accepted at the discretion of the clinician, and a receipt will be issued.
Where payment is not made at the time of consultation, the balance must be settled within 14 days of the appointment date.
8. Privacy and Data Protection
Use of our Services is subject to our Privacy Policy, available here.
We process personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
Access to your existing medical records (via SystmOne, EMIS, Airmid, or the NHS Summary Care Record) may be required to provide safe and effective care. Your consent will be sought prior to each consultation.
You may withdraw consent at any time; however, without access to relevant medical records, we may be unable to provide Services.
9. Medical Records and Confidentiality
We maintain records of all Services provided.
These records are treated as confidential and handled in accordance with applicable laws and professional standards. Access to records is restricted to authorised personnel only.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Harrogate Private GP Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, goodwill, use, or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of our Services.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Harrogate Private GP Ltd and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Services.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time.
Any changes will take immediate effect upon posting on our website unless otherwise specified. Continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
